Jefferson College Claims Regional 16 Championship with 75–65 Victory Over NCMC

The Jefferson College Lady Vikings are Regional 16 Champions.
Strong performances throughout tournament play helped Jefferson College close the Regional postseason on a high note, highlighted by a 75–65 victory over NCMC and a collection of All-Region honors that reflect the program’s depth and dominance.
Fast Start Sets the Tone

In Saturday’s championship matchup, the Lady Vikings controlled the game from the opening tip and never trailed. Jefferson stormed out to a 14–0 run, immediately seizing momentum and establishing control on both ends of the floor.
The Lady Vikings outscored NCMC 23–14 in the first quarter, recording six assists in the opening period while moving the ball efficiently and defending at a high level. Jefferson carried a 41–28 advantage into halftime and maintained command throughout the second half.
At one point, the Lady Vikings built a 21-point lead at 56–35, showcasing their ability to stretch the floor offensively while limiting NCMC’s opportunities in transition.
Balanced Offensive Attack

Jefferson’s success was fueled by a balanced scoring effort and dominant interior play.
Tai Harvey led the way with 18 points and a team-high 14 rebounds.
Camaya Pitts recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the paint on both ends.
Alejandra Escriva added 16 points.
Sanai Delgado chipped in 10 points, including two three-pointers.
Additional contributions came from India Robinson (8 points), Trinity Pye (4 points), and Aubree Wilson (2 points).
The Lady Vikings controlled the glass, finishing with 40 total rebounds and limiting second-chance opportunities. From beyond the arc, Jefferson shot 3-of-9, complementing its strong interior presence with timely perimeter shooting.
Defensive Dominance
Defense proved to be a defining factor in the championship run. Jefferson finished with

six blocked shots and nine steals, consistently disrupting NCMC’s offensive rhythm.
The Lady Vikings’ ability to protect the rim and force turnovers helped preserve their double-digit lead and close out the game with confidence.
Postseason Honors Recognize Program Strength
Following the tournament, Jefferson College earned significant individual recognition:
Second Team All-Region: Alejandra Escriva, La’Dymein Lafayette, Sanai Delgado
First Team All-Region:Â Tai Harvey, Camaya Pitts.

In addition, the Lady Vikings’ head coach , CB Walker was named Region Coach of the Year, honoring the program’s preparation, player development, and sustained success throughout the season.

On to Districts
With the Regional 16 title secured, the Lady Vikings now turn their attention to District competition in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Opponent and game time will be announced.
Jefferson College concludes Regional play with momentum, impressive statistical performances, and a collection of team and individual accolades that underscore the strength and direction of the program as it advances to the next stage of postseason competition.
